You need a place to work and all of the damn people are TOO FUCKING LOUD.
you’re on the subway or a bus and talking people annoys you, people talks on the phone in the street it annoys you, people whisper in the class or cinema it annoys you, people just talks and it just fucking annoys you all the fucking time! people having breakfast at kitchen also annoys you. you can’t sleep because you hear every single damn voice…
^^ Pretty much this. I have headphones in almost all the time, even around my own kids, because the excess noises just irritates the snot out of me. It’s just the chatter that no one thinks is so super loud but just IS.
right!? me too, I always wear headphones in my room (I live in a student house ughh) also I never ever go outside without my headphones & mp3 player or I’ll go mad, I just can’t take it.
Oh gosh, the best/worst time of my life was college. It was the best because I met some really amazing people (and eventually, the person I married), but it was the worst because student housing (which everyone under age 21 had to live in) and shared living areas and just NOISE!
thank God someone who understands! besides I haven’t even met any amazing people yet, it’s my second year and I’ve only got one friend. so it’s like I’m only living the worst parts of uni.
Also, I went to a private college that I can’t recall what it was before, but it must have acquired buildings that were nursing home/hospital related, because one dorm I lived in was all echo-y and loud and had nonworking call buttons on the wall. They hadn’t done a great job of renovating it all, so it was really noisy when you had 24 rooms with 2 girls each. Then on “open dorm nights” when the boys could come visit (with doors open, of course), it was even louder. I tried to find other places on campus to hide, like the library or the writing lab where I worked. I have both good and bad memories, like I said. For me, it was about finding my niche, about finding people who were sort of like me even if they didn’t totally get me. One of my best friends now was one of my roommates from those early days, the one whose room I hid in (where it was dark, and quiet and we watched Alias and it was just perfect; I requested to move to her dorm the next semester) during “open dorm nights” because no one in her dorm actually had any boys over during that time.
well I hope I can make some friends too, before I leave. it’s really hard for me to make friends. I just can’t do it so the other person should start it, you know make the first move and it doesn’t seem to happen so… God I miss my high school friends :(
